Photodynamic Therapy

Photodynamic Therapy (or, PDT) uses a medically sound light combined with a topically applied photosensitizing agent that, when exposed to this wavelength of light, produces a form of oxygen that kills nearby cells, making this a powerful treatment for patients with precancerous and cancerous lesions on the face and body. Other benefits include the correction of sun damage, reduction of pore size, improvement of tone and texture, and treatment of acne. Healing takes place within 10 days, and requires patients to avoid all UV exposure for the first 48 hours after treatment.
